  Perhaps we can also push for an amendment of the Copyrights Act 2005 to ensure we kickstart Ghana's Film Economy. Rights Owners lives matter and surely all Copyrights including all Audiovisual Rights due to Performers in accordance with the Beijing Treaty that Ghana has ratified must reflect in Ghana's Copyrights Act and it's Regulations - we've addressed parts of it in the Legislative Instrument in support of Ghana's Film Development and Classification Act 2016, Act 935 which needs to be looked at by stakeholders and the attorney generals office and the sector ministry with a view to pass it into Law. Henceforth and to ensure we deliver a film economy for Ghana, mandatory issuance of contracts to all Rights Owners including all Performers that clearly states all rights due to the Performer in accordance with the Beijing Treaty is a must and any Executive Producer and Producer who tries to deny, circumvent or sabotage this well needed mandatory clause in the L.I in support of Act935 or at the time of amending Ghana's Copyrights Act 2005 will have to be labeled an exploiter of Performers that wants to suppress Performance Rights that by current Ghana's Copyrights Law, is an automatic right that's due to the Performer the moment the Performer's Audiovisual Performance is affixed to an Audiovisual Fixation. It's about time we stick to the proper rules of engagement to ensure growth for (1) The Performer just as it is for (2) The Executive Producer and (3) The Producer (because all 3 are Rights Owners that must earn from their Rights and not just the Performance Fees that's currently being paid for the day's performance that gets affixed to the audiovisual Fixation and no more. Issue of issuance of Performer's Performance Rights and others in Perpertuity must either be a thing of the past or calculated to reflect the one time fee that has so wrongly become some sort of exploitative status quo to the detriment of the Performer as it leaves Performers with no residual income and or Royalties Earnings. Performers in Ghana must wake up to safeguard all Audiovisual Performance Rights the Belongs to them and the Clause for Mandatory Issuance of Performance Contracts that stipulates all Performer's Performance Rights in exchange for a weighted fee shall be the only way to ensure The Performer earns what's rightfully due to them. Ghana Actors Guild must ensure they get their act together and use capacity building budgets to develop a Professional Performance Rights Contract to be used by all its Members across the entire country, and any Performer who is not a member of the Ghana Actors Guild MUST Mandatorily become a Member of the Ghana Actors Guild to benefit from using the Ghana Actors Guild Producer / Performer's Contract with the Mandatory Clause that guarantees the Performer of all thier Audiovisual Rights for their Performances.
