I was once in Hamburg in Germany, we were students from Moscow and don't have enough on us to hire a hotel or hostel.
On the first night we sleep in an underpass. We keep our ears open whiles sleeping when we hear hard footsteps entering the underpass, we know that that is of the German police, so we stood up and begun to walk or even get out from the underpass. When the police left then we go back into the underpass to continue with our dosing.
However, the next day I asked one of the students if there is a place where I may quitely sleep in the night. He showed me a hostel where some beans food is served, but you must pay something.
I did so, paid sleep there for two days and returned to Moscow. That was in the summer of 1980 when there was the Olympics in Moscow.
Other students who don't want to watch the Olympic games and travelled out from the Soviet Union were given visa to return after the games.
I took part in the opening ceremony of the 1980 Olympic games in Moscow together with Dr. Paul Obeng and some other Ghanaian students, two of them who were my course mates, who are no more. My visa was open, so I returned to Moscow to watch the rest of the games.
