  Anyone looking to become very successful or wealthy should be prepared to lose friends in the process. And this happens even if your attitude towards them does not change. I heard a globally well known personality make this comment. Several years later I heard a greatan of God state that most people who claim to be our friends have no trouble showing sympathy when your fortunes are on a downturn because of financial loss, loss of a job, broken marriage or some other setback. However very few would truly rejoice with you if come by some really good fortune, a promotion, become wealthy etc.

  Just learn to ignore their antics and keep going.
  Ask yourself, why would a real friend take delight of making you aware of an insult to you by an unknown somebody? They are sharing it with you because they are secretly that unknown somebody. Odwan

  I remember a young lady in a European country relating her story in a financial seminar. She was a single mother with a 6 year old trying to make ends meet working as a receptionist/secretary for a small Wood Pallet company.This company went bust just before the great global financial crisis of the mid 2000s and she quickly found herself unemployed and almost penniless. She had been the person responsible for ordering wooden pallets and re-supplying them to various industries and shops. (Wooden pallets are used mostly for transporting and storing goods, particularly in warehouses and distribution centers. They have many other diverse uses too numerous to list here).
  Then this desperate young lady got an idea; why not use her knowledge, experience and contacts which she had built up over several years to start her own business supplying these wooden pallets which were in great demand?
  She embarked on this venture with much fear and dobt but pressed on. After a year she turned a goo profit of over 100,000 dollars equivalent. After 5 years she made her first million before tax (dollar equivalent terms). She exchanged her cramped 2 bedroom flat for a better furnished 3 bed "semi" and replaced her 12 year old car wih a nearly new Audi Sedan A4. Soon after this she noticed negative anonymous posts on social media; also many of her childhood friends started to avoid her. She tried to invite them home for meals only to be met by friends excusng themselves from attending or visiting and spending their time critising her interior decor or dress. She also saw even more anonymous negative online chatter.After a few more years of this "nonsense" she started to drop these "friends" and associates and started to hang out instead with like-minded people with her kind of of life experience and struggle- people who like her had had to pull themselves up by their socks and through very hard work ,perseverence, tenacity and discipline attained some measure of financial success.By this time her growing business had surpassed the 5 million dollar mark.Basically she discovered what many upwardly mobile people discover at some stage in life- trying to maintain friendship with erstwhile friends and associates often leads to resentment,jealousy and envy and friendships become quickly TOXIC. Like many this young lady would eventually be forced to part company with her friends because of their growing negativity and hostility- her generous acts were misrepresented as "showing off" or "trying to impress" and she was accused of beeing proud or "uppity".As a matter of fact neither her friend or relatives even suspected that she had already become a millionaire as she continued to live relatively modestly. TODAY HER BUSINESS I HAVE DISCOVERED IS WORTH TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND SHE IS NOW MARRIED TO AN EQUALLY SUCCESFUL GENTLEMAN.
  
  Like somany other succesful people this young lady was forced to accept the harsh reality that OFTEN ON OUR BUMPY JOURNEY TO SUCCESS WE OFTEN CANNOT TAKE MANY OF OUR FRIENDS, ASSOCIATES OR EVEN FAMILY MEMBERS AND LOVED ONES WITH US. Trying to do so can sometimes lead to serious emotional or financial harm.
  We must of course try where possible to look out for family and friends and help whenever we can do so without injuring ourselves in the process. LOVING PEOPLE ESPECIALLY THOSE WE ARE RELATED TO CAN BE FRAUGHT WITH DIFFICULTIES,SADNESS AND EVEN DISTRESS AND THAT IS THE REALITY.
