The God that true Christians worship cannot be confined to any particular building or edifice. PEVERTED HUMAN NATURE LOVES TO DEIFY AND EVEN WORSHIP BUILDINGS, RELICS ,STAUES,IMAGES AND REGIONS WHERE GREAT EVENTS OCCURED,THE MEMORIALS OF GRAET MEN AND WOMEN ETC ETC. That is called in the Bible "Idol Worship".
The God of all creation who is a spirit and must be "worshipped in Spirit and truth" inhabits the hearts of His believing people whether they are worshipping Him under a tree, in a tin shack church or in a private home. An ampty Church, Cathedral or auditorium DOES NOT HAVE GOD'S PRESENCE ONCE THE TRUE BELIEVERS GO HOME after service. The Lord moves with and within the hearts of his Saints (Christians).
If the leaders of many Christian Ministries understood this fundamental Spiritual truth they would REFOCUS THEIR ENERGIES IN SPREADING THE GOSPEL AND PLANTING CHURCHES (BODIES OF BELIEVERS AND NOT NECESSARILY PUTTING UP IMPRESIVE BUILDINGS). Can you imagine how much more the gospel would spread if all the massive budgets put into putting up imposing churches ( often to man's ego) were redirected into spreading the Gospel of Christ far and wide and helping the poor?
There are many physically magnificent buildings (Churches ,Cathedrals and Basilicas) that took literally hundreds of years to put up) I doubt very much that God was pleased with such pointless human endeavours.In any case many of these are now in ruins especially in Europe.
