  People need to understand that a French or Russian Language Song will hardly make it to Billboard Top 10 in the USA. Similarly, a Ukrainian language song won’t sell much in Mexico among the mainstream. Since Akans make up 50% or more in terms of population or land mass in Ghana, the advice to use Twi for a wider reach is not about tribalism. There have been Akans who made beautiful Ga hits. Wulomei, ET Mensah, Ramblers all had mixed repertoire in different languages in order to reach a wider audience. It comes down to the business plan and strategy. It’s not by force.

The average Ghanaian receiveds a lot of lessons and enjoyment from the lyrics or words in any given song he listens to. Do not complain of tribalism!! The Jamaicans would rather give you all you want, please. Wishing you well.
