Please consider moving out of that house as soon as possible. If your wife is a matured woman, you can tell her everything as long as you are not ready to do a thing like this. But if she is not matured enough, please keep it to yourself to avoid troubles.

Now, be smart. Use the saved money for rent to build or finish already work-in-progress house quickly. Later if the landlady begins to misbave, you are the winner! As a man, life is all about risk for us. Don't let your wife know, Never. As for your children, especially the boy, you can tell him when he is a reasonable and matured adult in the future. In the unlikely event your finds out in the distance later, sit her down and explain things to her on meritorious grounds....she will initially be mad but when she cools off and down, she will relentless understand why you took that decision.
