  The issue is why did the police destroy the Wee plants? Did they do that legally or not? Get that fact first before you talk trash and abuse others. It is not only cigarettes that are legal and destroy life- so is alcohol, salt, and even sugar- EVEN MEDICINES WHEN TAKEN WITHOUT ADVISED DOSAGE.   Cannabis was banned in Ghana and around the world largely because of racism and misinformation, not science. In the early 1900s, the U.S. pushed for a global ban by spreading fear that linked cannabis to crime and minority groups. This influenced international laws, and Ghana, like many other countries, followed suit—banning a plant that had been used traditionally for years. What’s frustrating now is that the same U.S. that led the charge to criminalize cannabis is now legalizing it and making money from it, while Ghana still holds on to outdated laws for no good reason. It shows how unfair the whole system was—and still is—and why it’s time for Ghana to rethink its stance.

Again, the US, which banned weed globally, is legalizing it. The drug addicts you see on the streets are not on weed (or just weed). They are on crack cocaine, which is different from weed. Learn and stop being thick. It is now easy to research, so stop fooling yourself! The black man is still not reading. The truth is hidden in books. In plain sight.

In regions like the North, Volta, and parts of Brong Ahafo, traditional healers used cannabis in herbal remedies for epilepsy, pain, insomnia, and loss of appetite. Farmers and laborers in rural areas also used small amounts for stamina, focus, or relaxation after work. Hunters reportedly used it to stay alert in the wild. These practices were passed down quietly, but colonial laws and social stigma forced them underground. Just because they weren’t written in books doesn’t mean they weren’t part of real Ghanaian life.
