Madam ,what you are saying is very true but it takes more than kindness alone to make a marriage work. Mutual trust and respect is necessary ,consideration for the other person, gentleness , an unselfish and sacrificial spirit, the ability to communicate clearly and truthfully (especially listen respectfully to the other person's point of view). I know of husbands and wives whose kindness is legendary but who seem incapable of remaining faithful to their spouse or simply could not hold down any job for long- and what good is that?
Marriage is hard work, marriage requires constant nurture and a lot of investment in TIME and EFFORT but the resulting reward can be amazing for those who have the patience, resilience and staying power.
And most important of all are the values and beliefs we hold dear, which in turn shapes our character and character dictates our behaviour.
Do we have reverence for God and His commands about how we relate to Him and our relationships and responsibilities to our fellow human beings? The Holy Scriptures are a good starting point. Christ said John 10 :10 ESV "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they (human beings) may have life and have it abundantly".
