It is widespread, in Asia, Europe , the Middle East,US, Canada, etc. The International Lab our Organization should step in to enforce equal pay for equal work. It's unfortunate that blacks experience discrimination in daily life all over the world.

  What I am about to say is in no way meant to imply actor Djimon Hounsou has been irrespnsible in in the way he handles money. However that I know a good many "succesful" blacks living and working in the West who reached the top of their game and could have done far better financially but for their glaring lack of financial savvy. We can name any number of top black very high earning sports men and women, musicians ,filmstars, and many other professionals who earned very large wages or salaries but lost all because of their compulsive spending habits.Some of them as soon as they started earning well began to splash out on expensive cars,expensive clothing,bling, expensive holidays ,dined routinely at expensive upscale restaurants, shopped at upscale shops and groceries.They lived to impress friends,family, colleagues and even strangers. They paid very little attention to saving their hard earned money, never bothered to learn to invest their earnings in equities real estate and other asset classes .They lacked discipline,practised instant gratification rather than delayed gratification and so when they were past their peak earning years or when retirement appeared just round the corner they had nothing to fall back on.They looked at their retirement years with terpidation and a great deal of anxiety.
  TOO MANY OF OUR BLACK HIGH ACHIEVERS IN ALL SORTS OF FIELDS OF ENDEAVOURS PUT TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON SHOWING OFF TO FRIENDS AND FAMILIES, ,PUT TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON LOOKING SUCCESSFUL RATHER THAN BEING TRULY SUCCESSFUL BY PUTTING IN THE LONG-TERM EFFORT, FRUGALITY ,DISCIPLINE AND CAREFUL AND STRATEGIC PLANNING THAT LEAD TO SUSTANABLE AND ENDURING FINANCIAL SECURITY.
  Yes it is hardly a secret that White peers and counterparts often have an easier path to the top than other minorities, especially blacks but often this does not translate into financial security for the same reasons already stated above. What I have found is that our black brothers and sisters too often fail to take the steps necessary to make what they earn grow for the reasons I have already stated above.
  FOR ALL THOSE HARDWORKING AND AMBITIOUS BLACK MEN AND WOMEN WHO ASPIRE TO GET TO THE TOP AND BE COMPLETELY FINANCIALLY SECURE BY THE TIME THEY REACH THEIR 40S,50S OR 60S I SAY TO THEM YOU NEED TO WATCH YOUR SPENDING HABITS,STOP TRYING TO IMPRESS PEOPLE. CONTROL YOUR SPENDING,LEARN TO LIVE CHEAPLY TODAY SO THAT YOU CAN LIVE VERY COMFORTABLY TOMORROW. LEARN TO BE FINACIALLY LITERATE AND ABOVE ALL LIVE TO PLEASE GOD.There is simply no short cut to true success or true wealth and for most people it takes many years sometime a few decades to reach the top of the mountain of success.Just be patient and stop imitating other folk who SEEM TO HAVE IT ALL OR WHO SEEM VERY WEALTHY OR SUCCESFUL. DON'T BE FOOLDE BY APPEARANCES- Most are broke or have far less than they claim to have. NEXT TIME ASK TO SEE THEIR BANK ACCOUNT ,THEIR TAX RETURNS ETC AND THE TRUTH WOULD SHOCK YOU.

  Racism is alive and well in North America and especially in very upscale areas such as Hollywood where the "great and good" live. I have met Ghanaians and other Africans living in the US and different parts of Europe who looked me straight in the eye and claimed they had never experienced racism before. What can we say. How can anybody reply to such a preposterous claim? My standard reply to these alien creatures from outer space( and they have to be not to have experienced any form of racism): "That is good!"
  I will be grateful for any better suggestions about how to answer these delusional souls.

  How about switching to something else? I know of teachers who did not like teaching but attained great success by authoring several school textbooks .I also know of Chefs who underperformed in kitchens but reached great heights after writing cookery textbooks and making creative recipes. The list of possibilities are endless. The only way to break out successfully is to:
  1.Have courage, don't be afraid to leave your comfort zone (don't be crippled by fear)
  2.Be prepared to put in the time ,discipline, effort and work exploring and researching other potential areas of interest (research, research research)
  3.Be prepared to suffer a temporary loss of income and even prestige when changing careers. Often you have to lose today in other to gain or win big tomorrow.
  4.Finally ask yourself what you can bring to the table when you meet potential employers or partners. Why should anybody choose you over other folk- WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THE TABLE THAT YOUR COMPETITORS WILL NOT HAVE?
  Above all invite God into your plans. Invite Him into your life and watch Him help you battle your way through the problems and challenges that are a normal part of life in this imperfect world of ours.
