Iwan, or whatever you call yourself. What a shallow minded fool. I don't know much about you but, per my assessment, your IQ is very low based on that statement .

Massa you are right. Going abroad has become far less attractive over the last 10 years or so. It is a lot lot harder to find work that can sustain you let alone when you have a family. Even those in traditionally high demand professions in the healthcare and Teaching sectors are really struggling unless you were one of the very lucky ones emigrated abroad many years ago and managed to become well settled in a good job and put down deep roots.
It used to be that the hardest part of going abroad was being able to get a visa. Nowadays that has become relatively the "easy part". Far more difficult is how to survive and thrive WHEN YOU GET THERE. The rapidly rising cost of living, rising unemployment, rising hostility towards most foreigners especially those with darker skin means that the barriers to putting down roots abroad in the West have become very high. And this could get much much worse very quickly if the conflict in the Middle East intensifies and and spreads to engulf the world and to a lesser extent if the Ukraine -Russia war also unexpectedly escalates due to other major players getting involved directly in the conflict. THE RISK OF A THIRD WORLD WAR IS AT THE HIGHEST EVER RIGHT NOW.

This is funny. In abroad, we work hard and get results. In Ghana, the youth work hard but still suffering. Anyone that comes here, giving the person just a year, his or her life will change. All the houses and the buildings in Ghana about 75% belongs to young people outside Ghana. How many teachers, police men or hard working people can afford to build a house. I laugh when some people think being overseas is a waste of time.

The truth surely HURTS. The gentleman is very right. It is NOUVEUA SLAVERY couched as "work abroad". The kind of indignity our compatriots are saddled with when they take up jobs abroad is disheartening. Of course, they travel on their own volition, but does it matter! It is the same old exploitation and abuse of the human resources of Africa, except in this case they are lured abroad under the banner of "employment abroad". Unfortunately, the best of our youth and professionals take the bait and troop to Europe and the Americas to be abused. So sad! How on earth can people trained to be engineers, chemists, accountants and what have you, throw away their training and dignity to become nanny's, care-takers of the aged, cleaners of toilets and streets, etc and in environments where they are treated as second class citizens. And to think that they are happy in those conditions and brag about staying abroad!!. Largely, those are lost sons and daughters of Africa. We pray that there will be greater awakening to enable these people understand the tragedy of their situation and troop back to the continent to help develop it. Thank you!!!

We all know what is wrong but nobody wants to do anything at the personal level to fix these problems.

No one would ever abandon his or home to go and sojourn elsewhere in life. A frog does not run in the day time if nothing is follow it. Everyone living or staying abroad has a personal reason or story behind it. Far and in between of these folks have the necessary connected people in the Ghanaian society to have hope in life. Many of us abroad would have perished by now if we are still living in Ghana due to obnoxious corruption, nepotism, hatred ,bigotry tribal sentiments of no wisdom, and inequalities the society has bestowed on us all.Than your God that someone us are in the diaspora remitting our hard earned revenue to sustain your porous economy for someone like you to have life. If you're are seeing far today, remember that you're standing on someone's shoulders. Be guided in your loose talks in the future.
