This terrible event should be a timely reminder to all parents especially those with a high profile in society (whether in the religious arena, political field, in the sports or entertainment industry etc etc) that they need to pay really close attention to the way they raise their kids. They must not allow their children to become undisciplined and out of control because the consequences could be pretty dire for everybody concerned.
The destructive behavior of their kids can destroy those kid's future as well as have very severe consequences for the careers, profession and reputations of their parents.
Ii is so important to bring up kids to be humble considerate ,respectful, hardworking, diligent and to have integrity (in other words bring them up to be Godly). We all know that children learn best by copying the example of parents and other significant older peolple in their lives. This is why it is absolutely critical that parents pay close attention to the kind of attitude and behavior they are displaying in front of their children. If they see parents acting arrogant, dishonest, telling lies, being disrespectful, ignoring the laws of the land, if they constantly witness parents behaving in a self-centered abusive manner, backbiting others and being narcistic then they will pick up the same self-destructive behavior. On the other hand if children grow up watching parents CONSISTENTLY demonstrate integrity and honesty, treating everybody with respect , if they see parents showing humility, gentleness, kindness, patience towards family members and also towards outsiders then they will absorb those same stellar values and shape up to be wholesome ,emotionally balanced adults.
PARENTS, IT PAYS TO INVEST CAREFULLY AND WISELY IN YOUR CHILDREN'S UPBRINGING. That is when the saying "Children are a Blessing from the Lord" applies.
