Hello legend buju banton,my 2 cent is that, those who don’t know(and that is alot of people) what the kings music feels like. Most definitely will disagree with you. For now Afrobeats is making waves, but we have all heard different genre’s over the years come and go. The kings music was here when they all came and it shall still be here when they’re all gone.

Songs are created to fulfill diverse needs. It could be created to primarily to entertain, educate, motivate, inspire , comfort, uplift or console. The bottom line is, song creation is a business. Majority of the artists crea ... read full comment
Songs are created to fulfill diverse needs. It could be created to primarily to entertain, educate, motivate, inspire , comfort, uplift or console. The bottom line is, song creation is a business. Majority of the artists create songs to make profit.
Afrobeats are solely for entertainment and serious profit making. So far, the afrobeat artists are killing it when it comes to entertainment and serious money making.
Other genres like reggae fulfil goals of 'inspiring' and entertaining their listeners. But I doubt if the artists are being profitable these days compared to afrobeats.
Bottomline, afrobeats and reggae are two different genres serving different categories of listeners.
