  Maturity in marriage only develops over a period of time time as both partners strive to adjust to each other and work constantly to build their marriage. Good marriages just don't happen by chance. Good marriages (i.e marriage with contentment) are always the result of both husband and wife investing time and effort into the marriage. Shared values and beliefs really do matter.
  For example 1.Both believe that the marriage relationship is life long
  2. Both believe that they must be faithful to their spouse and no third parties must ever be allowed.
  3.Both agree in the way children must be brought up while remembering that children learn best from their parent's example and values.
  4.Both must never take the other for granted and must show respect, consideration and unselfishness towards the other person.
  5.Both must believe in the value of honest hard work, healthy ambition, the need for careful planning towards their future wellbeing and prosperity
  6.Both must appreciate the great importance of financial discipline - i.e the need to budget carefully ,economize ( or as they say learn to be frugal) and live within or below their means.
  THE SINGLE BIGGEST CAUSE OF STRIFE , BREAK UPS AND DIVORCE IN MARRIAGE IS MONEY RELATED ISSUES AND MONEY RELATED PROBLEMS.
  A good starting point for any young man or woman is for them to look inwards first and ask themselves if they have the values that contribute to a healthy long-lasting marriage. If not then they need to work on acquiring these values and then they can look for a future spouse who shares the same values.
  The Holy Scriptures offer a very fruitful way for us to live our lives PROVIDED WE ARE PREPARED TO TAKE IT'S TEACHINGS SERIOUSLY. Church attendance alone will not fix us. Only doers of the Word will enjoy the fruits of obedience and not just mere hearers.
