There's actually no leader comparable to Rawlings apart from Nkrumah. Rawlings stepped into the gutters to evacuate silt, he helped ferry cocoa alongside students, he worked with tractors on farms, he dove into the Volta River (Scuba diving) during a research. Even normal individuals didn't do these, and we're talking about a head of state!
Rawlings' selflessness and leadership was passionate to a fault and meant more than life for him. The guy was a master of all trades, and hated only by Ashantis because he was Ewe.
