Ashanti kingdom, at its peak, was bigger than present day Ghana extending to parts of Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso. Ashanti Kingdom was the only people to fight the Great Britain for almost a century ... 100 years throughout the 19th century

  Hatred towards Ashanti is understandable because there’s a saying that “ Osene wo yonko a, wotan wo”. So we are not perturbed by your name callings. There are Ashanti’s in Jamaica, Surinam, Guyana, Barbados and the Americas. The Asantehene is revered through history. Even the white man respects his position of the Asantehene as the King of one of the oldest kingdoms in Africa. Who cares what you think? Who can call us all kinds of names, but it doesn’t change anything. I can’t wait for the day the Ghanaian parliament will visit the historical archives of Ghana. That’s when the whole nation will know the agreement the British had with the Ashanti kingdom. We know our history … they’re all written by many British authors and they all say the same thing. The white man would not lie for anyone, let alone an African kingdom. You can think whatever you want … we’re just tired of the hatred.
