Vipers pip Great Odupong

Cape Coast, Dec. 11, GNA - An 84th minute goal scored by Frank Mensah enabled Cape Coast Venomous Vipers to beat Great Odupong 1-0 in their Division One league match at the Robert Mensah stadium at Cape Coast on Saturday.

Odupong who are at the bottom of the Zone 2B league table with four points nearly caused a stir as they matched their opponents squarely but were unfortunate to cave in to their much experienced side. And the visitors held on gallantly until the 84th minute when outside left Mensah scored the match winner with a long range shot against the run of play. In the dying minutes of the game, Odupong made gallant efforts to cancel the deficit but try as they did, they could not find the net till the end of full time.

Results of the other league matches were, Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs lost 0-2 to Samartex, Sekondi Eleven Wise beat Windy Professionals 1-0 while Real Tarkwa United beat Metro Stars 2-1.
