You are an intelligent journalist, don’t let anyone sway you - Sally consoles MzGee

Controversial media personality, Sally Mann, has praised media professional MzGee for her conduct during an interview with a musician Medikal on the United Showbiz programme.

She defended MzGee's question to Medikal about his remarks on his estranged wife Fella Makafui's event.

Sally commended MzGee's poise when faced with Medikal's dismissive response on live television, indicating her growth in the field.

Speaking on the Power Entertainment show and monitored by GhanaWeb, Sally encouraged MzGee to stay focused and continue her exemplary work despite the controversy.

"MzGee is a powerful woman. She has met the expectations of a trained journalist, and that's indisputable. You are attractive and smart; don't let anyone sway you. You're known for posing insightful questions.

"The inquiry you made of Medikal was among the most impactful, yet not everyone is endowed with the ability to respond wisely. Your composed reaction to Medikal's disrespect is a testament to your professional evolution. The MzGee I'm familiar with would not have accepted such behaviour," she remarked.

Background

In a phone interview following Medikal's O2 Indigo concert, MzGee inquired: "Last week on this program, Fella was asked about your concert, and she sent her best wishes. I believe you're aware her new film is premiering this week. What would you like to say to her?"

An annoyed Medikal replied: "Do you realize what you're asking me? You sound like a marriage counsellor, which isn't the right approach. You called to discuss the concert. It was a success, and I wish everyone well.

"We had a fantastic show, let's focus on that. Today, BBC World featured me, and I'm receiving widespread acclaim. Why are you asking me these questions? I doubt you're still with the first boyfriend you ever dated. Things happen, so let's celebrate the fact that I've represented Ghana internationally instead of dwelling on these questions."

Before his concert, Medikal tweeted that he and Fella Makafui were no more.

"Fella is no more my wife, she is my baby's mother, we are co-parenting now and it’s all good,” Medikal tweeted on Saturday, March 30.

The duo got married in 2020. Rumours of their separation circulated in 2023, but neither had publicly addressed them.

Checks show that the couple have also unfollowed each other on Instagram while Fella Makafui has edited her Instagram username to exclude Mrs. Frimpong.
