Why does x-rated entertainment news thrive more in Ghana - Research

This is not the type of issue that I will love to write about but since I am not acting it or showing you anything, I believe it is okay for historical benefit to document this interesting phenomenon.

My attention was first drawn to this issue when I was reading articles on different popular entertainment websites in Ghana, I noticed that the most read articles had to do with sex, or make love or anything that has to do with intimacy. Most movies that have gotten massive attention have had to do with sex or nudity. Our music videos have been flooded with unhealthy shots; all in the bid to get attention.

Before now, I have followed so many stories on these sites and noticed that good credible stories don’t get comments or attention like the ones that come along with pornography contents.

I will pick a certain entertainment site in Ghana which is ranked at number 27 in Ghana and as it stands according to my research, it is one of the most visited entertainment website in Ghana, and if out of all their contributions to the entertainment and celebrity issues, the most read or according to their summation were based on the following topics which had or has x-rated contents.

I also decided to check out the latest top 100 websites visited in Ghana, and also compare it with other top 100 websites in the world because as it stands now according to Alexa rankings in Ghana, the 33rd position was a porn website, it is even visited more than jobs.com.gh which is 49th, then 51, 61 and 62nd are all pornography websites. The patronage obviously is high and clearly the figures may fluctuate but it is usually within the same range.

I went a step further to ask different movie producers which movies sell most in the market and I was made to understand that movies with nude contents thrive most in the market.

This answer took my mind back to the issues that sometimes encrypt out entertainment scenes with names like Mzbel going completely naked, with Raquel going on stage without panties and showing her privacy. With Tabiri Angela showing her breast in broad day light, with Wanlov Kubolor going naked on live TV, among others.

The society and the entertainment world is eroding and pornography is a strong weapon to that effect, my fear is with primary schools and JHS and even SHS using tablets as a learning tool may be totally affected.

The objective of this information is to alert us of the reality and then call for change, an invitation to examine the serious problem facing Ghana and the entertainment world where most celebrities have taken the way of going nude to attract attention as not healthy.
