BAG gears up for All Africa Badminton Championship

Accra, Oct 17, GNA 96 The Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG) has extended invitation to 23 players to commence preparations towards the Sixth All Africa Games scheduled for December this year. The invited players include 15 males and eight females drawn from Accra, Tema, Takoradi, Koforidua and Cape Coast.

The players are to undergo a two day invitational tournament at the Accra Technical Training Center starting from October 20-21 to select players for the championship.

The following make up the male team, Samuel Wiafe and Isaac Okai 96 Accra, Richmond Odonkor and Martin Owusu - Koforidua, Jeff Asare, Julius Quaye and Felix Agyin from Tema, with Joseph Ansah coming from the University of Cape Coast.

The rest, all from Takoradi, include Micheal Sam, Solomon Nyarko, Ben Prah, Maxwell Cudjo, Eic Attah Ninkyi, Daniel Sam and Joseph Sagoe. The female team has Theresa Tetteh, Mary Sadji, Evelyn Botwe and Mary Twumwaa all from Takoradi with Davies Joyceline, Mary Enoo and Martha Forson coming from Tema whilst Elizabeth Nkrumah joins the team from the University of Ghana. A statement issued by Mr Ignatius Elletey, General Secretary of BAG copied to the GNA Sports also extended invitation to the general public and the media to grace the exciting two day event.
