Weekend Entertainment on Viasat 1

Viasat 1 is set to thrill viewers with top of the line entertainment TV programs for the weekend. Starting Friday night at 10 o’clock Viasat 1 will air 2004 comedy-crime movie CRIMINAL. Starring John C. Reilly, Diego Luna and Maggie Gyllenhaal CRIMINAL is about two con artists who try to swindle a currency collector by selling him a counterfeit copy of an extremely rare currency bill. The two- boyish, likable Rodrigo and the scheming, cynical Richard - meet by chance. Richard, who has cheated everyone he knows, including his siblings, is missing his partner, so he offers Rodrigo a job for a day.

Rodrigo accepts because he has some savings, but needs more to pay his father's gambling debts. Richard gets a call when an aging, ill ex-associate needs help to sell a forged treasury note to a businessman whose visa is expiring the next day, a wealthy man who sees a chance to turn a quick profit buying what he thinks is a stolen document. When the con men have to improvise, Richard asks Rodrigo to use his savings to set up the deal. Is Rodrigo being conned? CRIMINAL shows 10pm Friday 4th March 2011.

The 2004 Ben Affleck/Uma Thurman hit movie PAYCHECK hits the screens on Independence Day eve for this week’s blockbuster movie. A computer engineer named Michael Jennings awakens one day to discover that the last three years of his life and the work he did for a man named Rethrick during that time has been erased from his memory. He also learns that he agreed to the three years secret work and erasure in exchange for a huge sum of money. But when he goes to collect his paycheck, Jennings learns that before his memory was erased, he gave up the money in exchange for a small bag of worthless clues and trinkets. When the feds come looking for him, Jennings must go on the lam and try to put together the last three years so he can prove his innocence. Using the strange trinkets he previously left for himself, he goes on a journey in search of Rethrick, for whom he used to work, and how he knew that these worthless items would save his life. PAYCHECK shows 9pm Saturday 5th March 2011.

THE ADVENTURES OF PLUTO NASH, rounds up the weekend on a funny sci-fi note with funnyman Eddie Murphy. In this movie Eddie Murphy’s character, after his successful night club is blown to flaming bits, Pluto and his band travel across the moon looking for clues as to who is behind the arson. Along with Bruno and Dina, Pluto visits a seedy motel, his secret hide out and the casino of the most powerful man on the moon searching for the evil doer, only to find out that the destruction of his club may have been his own fault. In addition West African movies NATIVE SON and MISSING RIB will air at 6pm Saturday and Sunday.
