Refurbished DNL offices in Hohoe Commissioned

Hohoe, May 6, GNA- Mr Kojo Andah, Director of the Department of National Lotteries (DNL) on Friday said the Department was well positioned to expand it product portfolios to maximize revenue for national development. He said DNL was therefore pursuing a vigorous decentralization strategy to bring it products to the doorsteps of its numerous clientele.

Mr Andah said this in a speech read for him at the inauguration of the refurbished Hohoe District Office and residential facilities valued at over 320 million cedis. The Hohoe branch office would service clients and lotto receivers in the catchment area extending to Krachi, Nkwanta, Kpassa, Dambai, Worawora, Kadjebi and Jasikan areas.

He said the decision to build a district office was arrived at after extensive research into lotto operations and revenue potential in addition to the geographical and strategic location, which gave a positive prospect of job opportunities and accompanying social benefits that would accrue to the people.

Mr Andah said with the opening of its district outlet receivers would now bring their coupons and ticket on prepaid basis instead of travelling to Ho for the service.

Mr Andrew Boa-Amponsem, National Chairman of the Association of Lotto Writers announced that by June ending, all results would be exclusive to only DNL according to the National Lotto Act of 722 of 2006. He appealed to interested Ghanaians to apply and urged others in illegal operations with the DNL results to rationalize their activities before the law gets them.

Mr George Gyamfi-Osew, Director in Charge of marketing said the repositioning of DNL was witnessing the emergence of a new Lottery Game centred on the family, fun, reward and entertainment. He acknowledged that the introduction of the daily draw had brought prosperity to its clients throughout the week. Mr Ebenezer Lamptey, Volta Regional Manager of DNL said the district office had received five motorbikes and a pickup to enhance their operations in the catchment area. DNL products are Monday Special, Lucky Tuesday, Midweek, Fortune Thursday, Friday Bonanza and National. 06 May 07
