Why I missed All Africa Games - JoeTex

Ghanaian born Frimpong "JoeTex" Asamoah, who plays professional football for Nigerian champions, Enyimba of Aba, has stated that the on-going African Champions League was responsible for his absence in the All Africa Games.

Frimpong, who made his debut for Ghana's U-23 team in an Olympic qualifier against Liberia stated this while reacting to the performance of the Ghanaian side in the competition.

"My team Enyimba had some very important matches on the eve of the Games, and during the Games. Moreover, I sustained an injury when we defeated ASEC 203 in Abidjan," he said.

In spite of his absence, Frimpong commended his colleagues for winning the bronze medal in the competition.

Frimpong said: "The players did their best and deserve to be praised."
