Techiman Urban Council exceed revenue target

Techiman (B/A), Jan. 11, GNA - The Techiman Urban Council mobilized 112 million cedis in revenue last year exceeding the budgeted 75 million cedis by 45 percent.

Mr. Davis Boamah-Asumadu, Chairman of the Council disclosed at an end-of-year get-together for workers of the Council at Techiman. He noted that the performance of the Council in revenue generation had been successful as a result of several measures including the recruitment of more revenue collectors and the setting up of a task force and said it would remain committed to the purpose it was set up. He appealed to the District Assembly to assist the Council to operate "since we are partners in the development of the district". Mr. David D. Yaro, District Co-ordinating Director, on behalf of District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Isaac Osei-Antwi, commended the council for its achievements.

He commended the co-operation between the staff and the collectors and expressed the hope that the cordial relations would be extended to tax payers.

Three outstanding revenue collectors, Mr. Isaac Korsah, Best Male Collector, Madam Comfort Konadu, Best Female Collector and Mr. Adu Yeboah, Best Task Force Member, were given cash awards of 100,000 cedis each.
