Sarkodie's cryptic post sparks reactions after Stonebwoy's post

Renowned Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has added more fuel to an already blazing social media storm after he shared a cryptic video on his socials, hours after Stonebwoy posted a cryptic message on X that started the blaze.

Sarkodie took to Instagram to share a video of renowned Jamaican reggae legend Buju Banton delivering a reflection on the power of forgiveness, and the internet has been reading between the lines.

In the clip shared on May 30, 2026, Buju Banton is heard saying: "The greatest weapon we have against all our adversaries is forgiveness. They don't understand it. They don't know why you're not hungry. They don't know why you're not bitter. And that drives them mad.

"So the ability to forgive enables us to continue our life on the path that our Father wants us to continue on. And the ability to project ourselves outside of the bad circumstances into good light is what we have. We're in control of that."

Sarkodie offered no caption. No names. No explanation. Just the clip. But for many on social media, the message was loud enough on its own.

The post comes on the heels of a cryptic statement from Stonebwoy on X, which many fans interpreted as a veiled shot at Sarkodie and Shatta Wale after the two performed together at Kweku Smoke's UK concert on May 29.

"These 2 guys have been faking to each other based on interests and timing.
Convenient friendship. Even the devil hates that," he had posted.

While Stonebwoy did not name anyone in the post, the timing and tone were enough to ignite chatter that it was a jab at the two artistes and their past friction and reconciliation.

'They are faking to each other' – Stonebwoy’s cryptic post sparks reactions

Sarkodie's post was seen as a response to Stonebwoy's.

This is not the first time the two artistes have found themselves at the centre of a coded online exchange.

As far back as September 2025, social media erupted after Stonebwoy quote-tweeted a fan's post celebrating his BHIM Concert and added the single word "Historic", a move that drew accusations of jealousy directed at Sarkodie, whose Rapperholic concert had just taken place.

Stonebwoy later insisted the post came from a clean heart and that he was simply celebrating his own success, noting that he had even urged fans to attend Rapperholic and had described it as "historic" too.

Neither Stonebwoy's nor Sarkodie's camp has issued an official statement on the matter.
