Ajumako Bisease Launches 500mC Endowment Fund

Ajumako Bisease (C/R), Aug 4,--The chiefs and people of Ajumako Bisease in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam district of the central region have launched a 500 million cedis endowment fund to improve facilities at the local senior secondary school. They are also contributing seventy million cedis to put up a library complex to enhance academic standards in the area. These were disclosed by Nana Damfo Baah the sixth, odikro of Bisease and Adontenhene of the Ajumako-traditional area, at a durbar at Bisease at the weekend to climax activities marking their annual 'nbangye' festival. He said eleven point eight million cedis has so far been realised for the endowment fund,whilst contributions of 10,000 cedis, 5,000 cedis and 4,000 cedis are being paid respectively by each chief, non-resident and resident citizen towards the construction of the library. The odikro was grateful to the government for constructing schools and a post office for the town, as well as for its programme to extend electricity supply to the area by next year. He appealed for assistance towards the completion of the upgrading of the local health centre to a hospital, to make the objective of health for all by year 2000 a reality.
