Ashaiman (GAR), July 2, A 15-member health project management committee that would educate Muslims on health issues and social vices was yesterday inaugurated at Ashaiman. The committee, which aims at reaching Muslim youth with information and services on adolescent reproductive health, has Alhaji A.D.Sofo as the chairman and Mr. Yusif Shaibu Labbaik as secretary. Inaugurating it, Alhaji Baba Issa, Director of Muslim Family Counselling Services (MFCS) said with education, the youth can protect themselves and avoid vices that would tarnish their reputation and affect their health. He said the projects, that have been inaugurated in Muslim communities at Nima, Sukura and Madina cannot succeed without the involvement of the community and called on Imams and elders to assist the committees in the education programme. Alhaji Issa asked adults to lead exemplary lives worthy of emulation by the youth. The youth should not enter into marriage at a tender age just to test their womanhood or manhood.
