“None of the current crop of Ghanaian artistes know how to dress,” said Papi of 5Five fame when asked to name artistes who are fashionably dressed in the Ghana music industry.

Speaking in an interview with Okay FM on March 26, 2026, Papi Adabraka said many artistes do not dress well, adding that he would rather single out Shatta Wale as someone who understands fashion. He expressed frustration with the industry for labeling the Dancehall artiste as someone who does not know how to dress.

According to Papi Adabraka, most of the current generation of artistes wear what they see on the internet instead of choosing outfits that suit their appearance.

Referring to Shatta Wale, who is a close associate, Papi noted that the Dancehall artiste dresses in line with his genre.

However, he believes that due to bias against Shatta Wale, some people misinterpret his style and conclude that he does not dress well.

Papi further added that critics who claim Shatta Wale’s chains are made of aluminium rather than real VVS diamonds are speaking from a place of ignorance and limited exposure.

He argued that such individuals grew up only seeing luxury items on television, and as a result, doubt that Shatta Wale can own such accessories.

“The current crop of Ghanaian artistes don’t dress properly. That’s why I get upset when people criticise Shatta, because many of them don’t even know how to dress themselves. They just copy what they see online instead of wearing what actually suits them,” he said.

“Shatta is a Dancehall artiste, and if you pay attention to that space, there’s a distinct style that comes with it, which he represents. But because there’s so much hatred in Ghana, people choose to see things differently,” he said.
