GIHOC Sales Representative Before Tribunal

Accra (Greater Accra) 20 May, '98

Henry Kofi Acquah, former sales representative of the Pharmaceutical division of the Ghana Industrial Holding Corporation (GIHOC) has appeared before an Accra Circuit Tribunal charged with stealing 23.7 million cedis belonging to his employers.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted 23 million cedis bail to reappear on June five.

Police inspector Joseph Anneh Kwame told the tribunal chaired by Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson Yeboah that during the latter part of last year, the company set up a task force to collect outstanding debts. The prosecution said in the course of the exercise, it was discovered that Acquah failed to pay in funds he collected on behalf of his employers. The prosecution said although Acquah collected 23.7 million cedis, he told the police on his arrest that he collected just 15 mullion cedis. gri
