Ghanaian media personality and former Guinness World Record singathon contender, Afua Asantewaa, has become the centre of social media discussions after opening up about challenges in her marriage.

In a viral video sighted by GhanaWeb on April 2, 2026, Afua Asantewaa, during a TikTok session, outlined several factors that led to her separation from her husband.

Among them, she revealed that her husband, also a media personality, failed to protect and defend her.

According to the sing-a-thon contender, her husband, who has over 30 years of experience in journalism, did not defend her during periods of backlash on social media.

“My partner is a journalist with over 30 years of experience, yet he has never come out to defend me. But during the sing-a-thon, he was able to stand in front of the camera and say he is proud of his wife… I don’t have anybody to talk to, but sometimes you just have to speak the truth,” she said.
