Ghanaian media personality and two-time Guinness World Record contender Afua Asantewaa has addressed public speculation about the state of her marriage.

She has clarified that she and her partner are separated and not divorced, as many had assumed.

The sing-a-thon queen clarified during a TikTok Live session with pastor Fire Oja, where the pair engaged in a conversation about love and relationships.

“I am not divorced, we are separated,” she was seen saying when questioned about the state of her marriage with Kofi Owusu Aduonum.

The couple had seemed inseparable after they came to the limelight in 2023 during Asantewaa's GWR attempt.

However, a few months after her second attempt in 2024, many noted that Asantewaa had been making cryptic statements about her marriage online, leading to speculations that she had divorced the sports journalist.

During the session, Fire Oja made a remark about how love can gradually leak out of relationships depending on how partners treat each other, a comment that Afua Asantewaa responded to with an enthusiastic "Thank you."

The record contender also opened up about the misconceptions that come with being an outspoken public figure in a relationship, stating that those who are unfairly blamed for relationship troubles.

"If you are outspoken and your partner is quiet, oftentimes, you are seen as the one who usually causes problems in the relationship. But they don't know.

"When you get to know them, then you realise that this girl is a public person, but she is different," she added.
