My calling is to evangelize - Lord Kenya

Former rap heavy weight champion and now turned Christian; Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo Kenya known widely as Lord Kenya has shared amazing life experiences in his early days as a Christian.

In a discussion that sought to establish how receptive the Christian community has been to the recent hiplife converts such as himself, Ofori Amponsah, Lazy Dogg, Papa Shee and so many others and their new gospel music, Lord Kenya in an exclusive interview with NY DJ on the Kapital Entertainment Unplugged Show on Kapital Radio explained response to his new gospel album has been great although it cannot be compared to response to his former hiplife albums; a situation he is never perturbed about.

Speaking on how popular his new tunes are with the people, Lord Kenya explained most radio stations used to play his songs but for unknown reasons stopped but he believes his calling is still being made manifest as he does not really concentrate on how his songs do on radio but the impact on many as it is already a testimony and has changed the lives of so many who saw him as a role model in his old life.

Explaining further on how difficult it has been for his new gospel to make waves and be easily accepted, Lord Kenya disclosed his priority is not to be accepted by the people but by the One who called him.

“I’m not really disturbed if people still find it difficult to accept me and my new works now.
