Musician remanded for defilement

Agona Swedru, April 8, GNA - Mr Robert K.K. Asaase, An Agona Swedru Circuit Judge has warned that there are laws which deal with parents who expose their children to danger.

He said "parents should therefore take very good care of their children because they are the gift of God"

The Circuit Judge made these comments when he remanded into prison custody Kofi Awusi, a 28-year-old musician for defiling a 10-year-old pupil. The accused whose plea was not taken would re-appear on April 27. Prosecuting, Police Inspector Comfort Darko told the court that on March 30th, the victim's mother went out leaving the victim with the sibling in the house at Kasoa.

The prosecution said the accused took advantage of that, lured the victim into his room and had sex with her and warned her not to tell any body else she would die.

Inspector Comfort Darko said in the evening at the same day, the victim started having severe pains in her tummy and when the mother asked she told her what the accused did to him.

The prosecutor told the court that when the parents confronted the accused he admitted the offence and the matter was reported to the Kasoa police.
