More movies on DStv in November

From the biggest blockbusters from Hollywood to Africa’s shining stars, DStv viewers can tune in to more exciting movies this month. Here are some highlights to expect:

Amexicano: DStv audiences can tune into M-Net East on Wednesday 16 November 2011 at 02:55 CAT to watch as a man with little positive to say about illegal immigrants finds himself working with one in this comedy drama starring Carmine Famiglietti and Raúl Castillo. Bruno is an Italian-American guy who lives in Queens, NY, and has lost his job. While Bruno has been looking for work, a steady job has been hard to find, and with his unemployment running out, he needs to start making some money. Someone arranges for Bruno to do some temporary work in landscaping and household construction, and he finds himself working alongside some of the Hispanic day labourers who wait every morning on Northern Boulevard looking for work. Bruno is not the most open-minded guy on Earth and initially bristles at the prospect of sharing the workspace with illegal aliens, but after a few days working with Ignacio, the two strike up a rapport, even though Bruno can’t speak Spanish and Ignacio knows no English.

Dinner For Schmucks: Tim is a rising executive who ‘succeeds’ in finding the perfect guest, IRS employee Barry, for his boss’ monthly event, a so-called ‘dinner for idiots’, which offers certain advantages to the exec who shows up with the biggest buffoon. DStv audiences can tune into M-Net West on Sunday 20 November at 22:00 CAT to watch Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and Stephanie Szostak in this comedy.

Trading Places: Catch Eddie Murphy on M-Net stars in their funniest roles yet. Two men on opposite ends of the spectrum, a street hustler and a rich stockbroker are forced to swap lives when two extremely wealthy old men decide to play God. Over the course of a few days, Winthorpe (Dan Aykroyd) loses his reputation, his job and his home, all of which are given to Valentine (Eddie Murphy). DStv audiences can tune into M-Net Stars on Saturday 19 November at 19:30 CAT to watch as each man learns to adjust to his new life.

Agbalusia Part 1&2: Ebenato, the heir apparent to the throne takes ill. Even the traditional doctor and herbalist struggle to find a cure for him. DStv audiences can tune into Africa Magic on Saturday 19 November at 10:00 CAT to find out whether Ebenato will overcome his strange illness. Cast: Pete Edochie, Browney Igbokwe and Amaechi Muonago.

Ndi-Wayo Part 1&2: The chief, Amaechi Muonagor, and his group of friends are constantly defrauding the community by selling them cheap bags of rice that are also no longer fresh. They soon abscond from the town, leaving their victims with little recourse. DStv audiences can tune into Africa Magic on Saturday 26 November at 10:00 CAT find out whether the law will take its course. Cast: Chidwetalu Agu, Sam Loco Efe and Amaechi Muornago.

Tune into Africa Magic Hausa in November to watch movies paying tribute to the late Hauwa Ali Dodo and Amina Garba.

Burji Aka Nemesis: Alhaji Nabirji’s eldest wife died leaving behind two children, a boy and a girl. He asked each of his two other wives to look after each child. When an old friend of the wife that is looking after the girl came to visit, things changed irrevocably. DStv audiences can tune into Africa Magic Hausa on Sunday 20 November at 20:30 CAT to watch. Kyakkyawa aka The Beauty: A man loves his wife very much but is constantly being told she is a woman of weak character. DStv audiences can tune into Africa Magic Hausa on Sunday 27 November 20:46 CAT to find out whether love is enough to conquer gossip.
