B/A Minister Launches Blood Donation Campaign

Sunyani The deputy Brong Ahafo regional minister, Mr George Owusu, has launched this year's blood donation campaign in the region at a ceremony at Sunyani with a call on the people to form blood donation groups. They should do this to show a humanitarian gesture by donating blood free of charge to needy patients. He cautioned against the tendency of some people who sell blood to make money and said while there was nothing wrong to reward blood donors with incentives, it "is morally wrong to make this a sort of business." Mr Owusu said incentives should not rpt not always be expected from the government when one donates blood. The deputy regional minister stressed the importance of everybody knowing his blood group since this could help to transfuse blood to patients, especially accident vicitims without delay.
