News surrounding the death of Ghanaian Highlife icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has taken a dramatic turn online as tensions continue to rise among members of his immediate family.
The late musician’s relatives have since been at ‘each other’s throat’ over issues involving the burial date, autopsy, widowhood rites and other arrangements.
In a new development, Mama China, a member of the Fosu family and an ally of the ‘Ernestina Fosu-Akosua Serwaa’ team, has alleged that the Ghana Police Service has invited Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu for questioning.
Confusion rocks Daddy Lumba's funeral date after Manhyia meeting
Speaking in an interview with Peace FM, Mama China stated that Kofi Owusu was invited by the police on December 10, 2025, in connection with their pending court case and ongoing investigations into the autopsy conducted on Daddy Lumba’s remains.
“The police have invited Abusuapanyin today in Accra. He was called in because of the court case, and also because of issues related to the autopsy. Akosua Bempongmaa (Ernestina Fosu) is the one who reported the matter to the police,” she alleged.
Mama China also claimed that Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu and the late Lumba had unresolved issues prior to the musician’s passing.
She further alleged that after the family’s recent meeting at Manhyia Palace, another confrontation broke out between Ernestina Fosu and Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu.
According to her, the family head even threatened that Lumba’s elder sister would die in the same manner the musician did.

“When Daddy Lumba was alive, he had issues with Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu… Even after we visited Manhyia Palace, Abusuapanyin went on social media claiming that Manhyia had given him the go-ahead to organise the funeral. Akosua Brempongmaa called him to question the claim, and the two ended up in a heated argument.
“During the exchange, Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu threatened Akosua Brempongmaa, saying that if she dared to stand in his way regarding the final funeral rites, she would die the same way Lumba died. We have recordings of the phone call,” she added.
