I'm not greedy - William Addo

William Addo William Addo

Veteran actor, William Addo, aka Akpatse, has dispelled criticisms that he is greedy.

William Addo has recently come under severe criticism for soliciting funds from President Mahama to deal with his eye condition after the President’s earlier intervention.

Mr Beautiful, the coordinator of President Mahama's project, "celebrities for Mahama" on behalf of President Mahama, paid the Ghc5,000.00 meant for the second surgery of the veteran actor at the Inter-Star Eye Clinic and Laser Centre at Osu near the old American Embassy on the 4th of July.

But Akpatse, congratulating the president Mahama , again appealed to him for another financial support to cover cost of medication, estimated at Ghc500.00 every month which he(Akpetse) has since been criticised for making such a demand.

But speaking on Hot FM’s “Hot and Classic showbiz review" with Ebenezer Anderson, aka Dr. Who, Akpatse explained that:

''My brother I am not greedy. Let me ask you a question, if you meet Jesus Christ won't you tell him all your problems?

"Yes, President Mahama is my "Jesus Christ" so I need to tell him all my problems so that he will help me ones and for all. More so,when you go to the hospital don't you tell the doctor all your problems? So it’s the same thing. So I was only telling him my problems but am not greedy", Akpatse told Dr. Who.

Akpatse continued that " late president Acheampong gave Osofo Dadzie group ten estate houses at Dansoman, Rawlings also built the national theatre, Kuffour gave gold chains to Agya koo, Attah Mills gave MUSIGHA Ghc2,000.000.00 ,So if Mahama created the creative arts and tourism ministry and has come out with such a project which I am a beneficiary, I need to tell him all my problems so that I wouldn't be a liability.”
