Bantamweight champ looking for manager

Accra, Mar. 11, GNA - Galley Kudjo, the newly crowned National and West African Bantamweight Champion says he urgently needs a manager to help him realize his plans to wrestle the Commonwealth title and other lucrative belts.

Kudjo, who prior to his recent feat had been in the "wilderness", stopped Herbert Quartey 1:30 seconds into the first round of their scheduled 10 round bout on March 4, at the Azumah Nelson's Sports Complex, Kaneshie.

The new champ told GNA Sports that his exploits had made him hungrier for fame but reckons that, that could only be possible with a good manager.

"At the moment I do not have anyone. Besides I trek from Pokuase to Bukom (Accra) every day to train and have problems finding food to eating," the stocky boxer told the GNA reporter. " I know I can make it in the field. I know I have great potential, but all these dreams can only be real if I have a manager who will help me fine-tune my skills to help me rule the world in my division", he lamented.

Kudjo, 24, said he started boxing in 1993, turned professional six years later but is yet to showcase his talent on a world class stage. Currently under the tutelage of Akese of the Black Panther gym, Kudjo is not enthused about defending his title but rather, wants a shot at the Commonwealth Crown and possibly the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the World Boxing Association (WBA) belts.
