Actress Mercy Asiedu has reacted to reports that she has denied the flag bearer of the leading opposition party, NPP, Nana Akufo Addo. The Kumawood star who is not happy about the report expressed complete disgust over the news which said she has turned down an offer from Nana Addo.
Speaking on Solid FM Saturday afternoon, she told host of Entertainment Edge, Tony Best that she has not had a meeting with Nana Addo for some media houses to announce that she has refused his offer.
According to her, she only reacted to rumours that she has endorsed Nana Addo by saying the picture was taken in 2012 but never denied Nana Addo as it was reported.
“I read some reports saying Mercy Asiedu denies Nana Addo, I’ve not denied anybody. I’ve not had a talk with anybody for me to deny him so that report is not true.” she told the host.
The Chief of Kunsu‘s wife made it clear that she would not involve herself in politics because her job does not allow her to endorse a political party.
Explaining the picture which generated rumours that she has endorsed the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2016 polls, Mercy Asiedu disclosed that “I took the picture in 2012 when supporting my church member, Adwoa Sarfowaa’s campaign launch. I even laughed when I saw the picture they were talking about because it was taken years ago.”
