Christians urged to live by the truth at all times

Tema, June 5, GNA - Christians have been urged to strive to live by the truth in the face of all odds.

Those with sound financial positions must also learn to make positive contributions towards the socio-economic and cultural development of the church and the nation. The advice came from three distinguished clergymen of the Tema District branch of the Methodist Church, Ghana. Right Reverend Samuel Acheamfuo-Yeboah, the Very Reverend Sam Aidoo-Bervel, and the Very Reverend Samuel A Dadzie, were all speaking at a burial service of the late Madam Leticia Barnson, also known as Mrs Morrison, a Founding Member of Tema Community Eleven branch of the Methodist Church at the weekend. The clergymen reminded Christians, especially the financially sound ones that they had a lot to do to support government efforts at improving the lot of the poor in society. They commended Madam Barnson for her immense material and moral contributions towards the development of the Church and advised members of the Community 11 branch of the Methodist Church to emulate her shinning example.

According to the leaders of the branch, besides financial and material contributions, Madam Barnson helped to establish several useful religious and benevolent working societies not only in the Tema Metropolis, but also in other branches of the Church. In addition, Madam Barnson offered excellent counselling to many individuals, married couples and organised groups in the area to bring life into their operations.

Mad Barnson who died at the age of 70, left behind eight children, made up of engineers, chartered accountants, administrators, and two medical officers including, Dr G K Morrison, Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Director of Health Services, in the Central Region. Thousands of mourners including, doctors, and other health workers, Ministers of State, Members of Parliament and the Board Chairman of the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme (AESDHMIS) attended the burial.
