Counsel For Wuaku Commission Is Dead

Counsel for the Wuaku Commission investigating the Yendi Crisis, George Owoo is dead. He died at his home on Friday. A family source says the deceased was suddenly taken ill and started gasping for breath in the early hours of Friday. A doctor declared him dead upon examination.

The late George Owoo showed no signs of ill health.

Officials of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Police have taken pictures of the body, which has been deposited, at the Korle Bu Hospital Morgue. George Owoo worked with the Lands Commission, Forestry Department and the Attorney General’s department and retired as a Chief State Attorney. He was appointed Counsel for the Wuaku Commission established by President Kufuor on May, 6 this year.

The three member Commission headed by Justice Wuaku is investigating the Yendi Crisis, which led to the death of the Paramount Chief of the Dagbon Traditional area, Ya Na Yakubu Andani and 40 others.
