Glitz Africa Fashion Week: Day 1

The whistle has been blown for the commencement of the maiden edition of the Glitz Africa Fashion Week, at the Accra International Conference Centre, and day one came, saw and conquered all odds leaving the beautiful audiences who came to nod in appreciation with smiles beaming their faces, as they left the venue saying ‘wow’.
An event, which is slated to run for 3-days, from the 17th to the 19th has just given a tip of the iceberg from its bag with beautiful models, creative designers and well calculated organization summing up the brilliant first night.
The night was filled with bliss starting from the arrival of the lovely faces, to the well choreographed opening dance steps, to the kick off by Ali Adams, the Ghanaian born South African base, who took no chances to whet the appetite of the audience.
Then entered Ghana’s own Rima Turkey, who showed the beauty of Ghana in her Peachy Purr splendid designs outfits.
As if the night was just beginning, Patrick of House of Eccentric rolled out his collections, which received thunderous applause from the glittering audience. His collections lightened the atmosphere.
Following immediately, were the exquisite twin designers; Kastle Designs & Treasure Chest from the USA, who blew the audience’s hearts away. They were simply outstanding and if you weren’t there, then you must have missed their adoring swags on the runway.
Then Abaya Dake made a state with his collections, so bright and beautiful. To sum up a great first day, it was no other than the one and only Alain Martial Tapolo from Paris, who almost stole the show.
Though the night started far behind schedule for inexplicable reasons, but it was generally a night of great energy and creativity from the designers, models and organizers at large. Day one brought out the notion that great and impressive initiatives abound in Ghana.
After the models had graced everyone’s eyes, it was time to network at the finest celebrity party at the special lounge created at the same venue, and the atmosphere there was exceptionally commendable.
Day two promises to be off the hook as the roll-call says it all; see for yourself the designers, Pearl Amoah (Ghana), Ophelia Crossland (Ghana), Dio Ali (Cameroon), Aya Morrison (Ghana), Akuchi Clothing (Ghana), Felicien Castermann (Benin), Habbib Sangare (Côte D’ivoire), Black Pepper (South Africa), Dedo (Ghana), N’kya Designs (Ghana), Sa4a (Ghana), Wana Sambo Clothing (Nigeria), Modela Couture (Nigeria), Mina Evans (Ghana), Abaya Dake (U.S), Kolture Apparel (Ghana), and House of Farrah (Nigeria).
If the first day is anything to go by then Ghanaians and the world should expect a thirst-quenching show in the last two days.
