USaid Employee On Kidnap Charge - Ghanaian Involved

A woman employee of United States Agency for International Development (USaid) was yesterday charged with kidnapping a city businessman and holding him for three days.

Joy Lasseko, a secretary with USaid in Nairobi, was jointly charged with five foreigners with kidnapping Mr Lion Anthony Ojo with the intention of confining him.

Her co-accused are Ghanaians Jamiu Giwa, Abdullahi Baba Sulleiman, Desmond Ngoha, Oyetayo Alantayo and a Nigerian, Fatai Adebiyi Onuwadoryu.

The six denied before Nairobi Chief Magistrate, Mr Boaz Olao, that they kidnapped Ojo on January 10, this year at city's Ridgeways estate.

Giwa, Sulleiman, Ngoha, Alantayo and Onuwadorya separately denied five counts of being unlawfully present in the country.

The were each released on Sh100,000 bond with surety of similar amount.
