Blitz The Ambassador Performs At United Nations MDG Awards

Coming fresh off his eye-catching performances with Public Enemy at Summerstage in August, and The Roots at Celebrate Brooklyn in July, Blitz the Ambassador has announced another string of exciting concert performances for the month of September. On September 19th, Blitz will give a private performance to the United Nations at the annual Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Awards at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

The theme for this year’s awards is “The Global Heartbeat”, and the U.N. has called on Blitz as a principal entertainer for the ceremony after hearing material off his forthcoming multi-lingual album, ‘Native Son’, in which the Ghanaian-American MC raps in both English and Twi language.

If you can’t get an invite to the MDG Awards Ceremony, you can catch Blitz performing the very next day, September 20th, alongside folk legend Pete Seeger and Iraqi American singer Stephan Said at the International Peace Day “Difrent Launch Party” at Le Poisson Rouge , NYC.

Closing out the month, Blitz the Ambassador will make his debut appearance in Washington, D.C., performing for the first time ever at the renowned club Liv (11th and U Streets). Shortly thereafter, he will be heading back to Europe to tour overseas.
