PROPHET BAWUMIA:--------- Mr. President, care to read? Today's request for disclosure on the 2007 redenomination is another demonstration of incompetence. Apart from the fact that the then Governor disclosed the cost as far back as 2007, if the President really wanted to find out the cost of the redenomination, he could simply have asked his VEEP who was Bank of Ghana Governor, especially when the President was Head of the Economic Management Team between 2009 and 2012. Such petty propaganda should be beneath someone of the stature of a President. It is clear he is very poorly briefed, but when a President decides to join the bandwagon of propaganda , he only ends up embarrassing himself. Moving on, can the President (with the same zeal) and his Economic Management Team respond to the 170 statements contained in my last lecture?

I do not agree with Hassan, hurling invectives at the EC boss. She is a woman and must be accorded the respect all our mothers and sisters expect from us. It cannot be said, she in not qualified. However, her qualification which she brings to the job, will only be assessed by the competence she delivers to the job on hand. But the position of the EC is very important in a nation's history. The occupant can make or unmake a country. This is most crucial and it must register with all persons who claim to be patriots. The work and position must be handled by an experienced hand. Almost all the past Commissioners except one, have carried out their mandates with distinction. On one occasion, when it mattered most to Ghanaians, a EC boss, Justice Isaac Abban stood tall. He did not kowtow to an overbearing Head of State, who wanted to steal the mandate of the people. Justice Abban's name is etched in letters of gold. He did what was right and just. We are waiting and watching in 2016.
