Times have changed and move on, so curriculum must be updated all the time. While in Ghana for holiday last year as a teacher in UK, i reviewed some of the textbooks and the curriculum students in SHS follow and are not fit for modern learning. It is still the same “chew, pass and forgot” curriculum, no any proper application of learning. Questions of most the past papers i had a chance to look at, were all to do with recall, describe, explain and some unnecessary calculations in physics which as no relevance to the students. Until we have a strong leadership for our education devoid of politics, this type of stories will reoccur every year.

For your information, the worst results were recorded during the Kuffuor NPP era. In fact the worst result since 2009 is better than the best results over the entire NPP period. This is a fact, and you can go check out for yourselves. It is no secret. Nobody is saying these result are okay for us as a nation, but for people who superintended over abysmal performances to pretend to be better managers of education is an insult to every reasonable and rational human being. Nana Addo is a failure. He was a failure as an Attorney General (Remember the famous "President vrsTsikata case?) In fact Kuffuor had to sack him. The as foreign minister, he was worse. Missing diplomatic passports were found with drug dealers (Remember Raymond Amana who was arrested in Brazil with cochise had a diplomatic passport. He was Nana's inlaw) Ghanaians were killed in the Gambia and the foreign minister did nothing, and said nothing. It was an opposition MP then, John Mahama who raised the the issue, and when he became a VEEP, brought closure to the issue with the Gambian government paying compensation to the families. As an MP for Abraham for 12 years, Nana did nothing significant with his common fund. That is the failures we are talking about, who goes round making fantom promises without thinking about the global economic situation and its impact on Ghana just because he feels people people like those ignoramuses making silly comments on this platform will believe any nonsense and vote for him. In 1996, Nana led 4 people to their deaths through violent Kumepreko demo against VAT, yet when they won power not only did his NPP retain VAT, they went ahead to increase it, increased fuel by 60 percent after carrying gallons on campaigns claiming the price was expensive and that Rawlings was insensitive. These are the Deceitful, Lying, Ethnocentric, Arrogant goons making noise all over the place. They are not be be trusted under any circumstances. These are the people whose own party chairman, Harruna Esseku said publicly that they were stealing money, taking kickbacks and packing them into car booths at the seat of government. Their own MP, came out and said that NPP Mrs were each paid 5,000 dollars to approve the sticky Vodafone deal. Nana Addo was one of those MPs. He now goes round portraying himself as incorruptible: and some hallucinating idiots tout him as such. What trash!!! Nana, failure right from his University days (Remember the 3rd class gifted him?) is not fit to lead this noble country. Do you remember what Kofi Coomson, an NPP supporter said about Nana, that he Coomson will not be able to sleep if vindictive, arrogant Nana becomes president. That is the failure we must all reject so that posterity does not judge us negatively. The signs and examples are clear to all well-meaning Ghanaians.

Why are Ashanti and Akim schools together with some few central and brong being marked by ewe and northern examiners? An insider once told me this but I refused to believe but I think I was a fool not to. May the statistical board give us the breakdown and everybody would be shocked that a The Ashanti Project is still in place. Way forward, let Akan examiners mark Akan students papers and ewe examiners mark ewe students and northerners mark their students etc and waec would gather all transcripts and examiners in Accra and each goes over others marking before grading. In Europe lecturers mark their exams and send results with recommendation to the exams board. Please do this Ghana to save Akans from these savage examiners!! Thank you!!!!

Politicians should stop playing football with the lives of Ghanaian children. Lives are at stake here. How can you set up schools under trees? How can we build a few schools and not provide quality teaching learning materials? Why should heads of schools provide students with low quality text books and expect children to pass exams.
Please for goodness sake, let's wake up and do the right thing.

Politically Ashantes are not smart and intelligence nor wise in their political utterances because they see and understand politics as a thing of fight or hatred thus in their political mindset they can create falsehood or political fallacies just with a single aim of destroying their political opponents.
This is a good point to show how they manipulate others to fall into the pit, and they now have perfectly done that and had pushed Akuffo Addo to follow that mindset of disgracefulness considering the reaction by the head of the Ghana Education Service that all that Akuffo Addo stated about the poor results of the WASSCE WAS UNTRUE.
The saddest thing on the part of those within the NPP who are of other tribes is that when the Ashantes push their foolish mindset ideas on the table and the non Ashantis within the NPP fails or refuse to follow they would easily describe them as not experienced in politics.
This styled of pushing the non Ashantes around is what had caused Akuffo Addo to make this sad low intelligence mistakes. Akuffo Addo and Bawunia should be smart and real in their political utterances so that in the future they would not make themselves cheap to the Ghanaian voters.

How can the director of education claim he is satisfied by the performance of these WASSCE results, the fact that this years was better than last year does not mean we should be happy since majority of these children are still performing below standard and the whole country must be worried. Even in the developed world where they have all the facilities for learning they study for thirteen years before they enter universities so how come Ghana decides to reduce it by one year, how?.

Even though he didn't mention the overall pass rate, I believe it's nothing to write home about hence the director's silence. But how can you be proud of 32.18% pass in mathematics?. This director must rethink his position . And oh director we are in the 21st century which is full of innovations and technological advancement and you still think the Ghana education curriculum does not need review. You must be living in a different planet. In other parts of the universe where great men have invented things and achieved greater heights, their curriculum have been revised to suit the needs of current situations. May be, he and people like him do not know or understand the criteria for University and other tertiary institution admissions. Having spent huge resources in preparing these young people for training in various professions, only 32% meet the criteria for further training, and you say you are proud, parents and management of schools should all be proud.
