Ivor Greenstreet said directly to President John Mahama and Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur that: “You don’t care”.
“Nobody is feeling your better Ghana”,
In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, a defiant Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”
“Continuous ‘dumsor dumsor,’ corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”
He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”
“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This ‘bronya’ is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don’t care.”
“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we’ll come and do…make sure you’ll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”

Today, Ghana's population is 80% below age 55 or close to something like that. That is about 100% of all those born after nkrumah was kicked out. This section of the population hardly know him except for the little they read about him. Using "Nkrumah" as a byline to sell to the youth today is like selling cassettes in the days of the MP4, seeeeeriously out of date!!!!
In his speech to annex the flagbearership of the CPP few years back, Prof Akosa quoted "Nkrumah" 43 times. The result?, a miserly 2% of votes. Fifty yrs after Nkrumah, Prof Akosa it seems, cannot develop his own vision. See, Nkrumah himself when he came on the scene developed his own vision, he did not go around quoting Paa Grant or the forebears, 15 times in a speech.
My two cents? forget Nkrumah nad think Greenstreet today. highlight Greenstreet as the man who may have no legs but has balls, big enough to tackle today's problems.
That is what will get me to vote for the first time for CPP. Time is long past for Nkrumah this Nkrumah that...

For some of you, politics has been reduced to the crass level of frivolous campaigns and the winning of elections and after that, zilch. This is the kind of nonsense that comes with a mind that is beclouded with hard core illiteracy.
For an adult - presumably an educated adult, who comes out with hysterical trash such as, "This section of the population hardly know him (Nkrumah) except for the little they read about him", is a sad reflection of the educated Ghanaian or of even the mentality of the Ghanaian adult. I would like to ask Alex Kodiww if he or any Ghanaian, or for that matter, anybody living in the world today, 'knew' Shakespeare, John Maynard Keynes or any of the 'conspirators' of the Bretton Woods system of economic development which is being widely used all over the world today as the blue-print of capitalist development?
Does Kodiww 'know' the founders of the Christian church? Does Kodiww 'know' Einstein? Does Kodiww 'know' Thomas Edison who is said to be one of the inventors of the light-bulb which 99% of mankind continue to use today? I could go on and on and on but suffice it to say that the most ridiculous and asinine fallacy that the Ghanaian youth of today do not 'know' Kwame Nkrumah hence the reason that the following and election results of that party are low, can be described and summed up in one word, stupidity.
Citing Akosa as a prime example of a leading member of the CPP, is in itself quixotic. Akosa is just simply one of the many incompetent opportunists who have monopolized the CPP hierarchy - probably at the behest of the unseen hands of global imperialism, to neutralize that party. This they would do to undermine the principles of Nkrumaism, the only existing dogma that has the particular capability to threaten the continuing rape of Africa by the global forces of greed and imperialism. This is why Nkrumaism is still pertinent and relevant to the African liberation struggle - perhaps not to you who does not have the intellectual capacity to understand these complexities but certainly to the few who are merely lucky enough to have attained the hallowed heights of a liberated slave.
"Forget Nkrumah and think Greenstreet"? Are you sane, or is it that you are simply on some of that stuff that Greenstreet smokes? If you yourself claim that Nkrumah, Paa Grant et al all came with their own vision, where, in that case, is Greenstreets vision? Greenstreet has been lurking around at various vital positions in the hierarchy of the CPP for several years now but I bet nobody - including yourself can confidently say for sure what his ideological sympathies are. For Gods sakes, it is even said that the man cannot even write a decent paragraph of clean English. This is the man who you, in your retarded mind, think can replace Nkrumah. It is like saying that Shatta Wale is the greatest musician in the world today.

I see I guess that is exactly what you just did?
See I honestly pity your kind; retired old young pioneers, cpp old apparachicks and sympathizers who thought Nkrumah was a god but now realize in utter horror that his name is no longer worth that mush even to the extent that his very own dearest daughter could be so trashed in an election in his very own party by a man with no legs! Oh How sad! forgive me okay? for rubbing your wounds. I dont know how old you are but it must be very though on you for me to tell you the truth. Equating the great name of Nkrumah with this CPP is a fallacy. Remember our history. It was this type if degenerative CPP that led to the unfortunate coup against Nkrumah. When the Nkrumahists came back to power, it was with the name PNP! For more than 3 decades, the collosal influence of Nkrumah and the Nkrumahists have continued to win power under the name of NDC. So, it is surprising that a bunch of Nkrumahist pretenders went to court and secured the name CPP, and suddenly, they thought they could bring back the Nkrumah magic? Even PNC, another heir of the Nkrumah tradition, continues to perform better than the empty shell of the name CPP. Good luck, Ivor, you finally have your chance to stand bold against the overwhelming majority of the real Nkrumahists massed up in the NDC!

Nkrumah’s children, though born in Ghana, were not bred in Ghana. The coup of 1966 forced
them out of the country. They grew up elsewhere. They have no classmates and no constituency
in Ghana. They just recently resettled in the country. I believe the story would be different, if it were Dr. Francis Nkrumah who is trying to lead the CPP. That’s my opinion.

Nkrumah's fatigue yes, but unlike the Npp who have been smart enough to build a wider founders heritage in reference not only to the image commandered by the big six but also recently their claim to the danquah/ busia/ dombo ancestry. this as aspected will tactically create the obvious broader sense of belongingness from people from areas where these notable founders of the NPP hails would act and feel towards the party. the widespread acceptance the npp enjoys nationwide same could be said abt the NDC though the claim of chairman rawlings as sole founder notwithstanding has not watered down its growing national appeal as it is an amalgam of all the existing political traditions as it also presents notable and distinguished persons across nation as its front line members...
same cannot be said about the CPP. time without number we have been made to believe that its all kwame nkrumah who singlehandedly foundered the CPP yet the fact is komla agbeli gbedemah, a founder and a key member of the cpp was very very instrumental founding member of the CPP when he together with nkrumah broke away from then ugcc to form the CPP. Here we are been told nkrumah won elections whiles in prison, yes that is so but the truth really is how does a person win an election without campaigning...?? Komla Agbeli Gbedemah with his exceptional organisational skills was the one single individual who masterminded and provided the victory to nkrumah by first ceding his seat in ayawaso or accra new town to nkrumah and went the full haul nationwide campaigning in every nook and cranny of then gold coast to secure the needed victory for nkrumah's ascent to the premiership role in 1951. besides Gbedemah was equally instrumental in crafting the first development plan for the cpp govt. yet today its all about only nkrumah, nkrumah and nkrumah. is that fair...? here for covert tribal reasons Gbedemah's name is never ever , obliquely or directly ever come for mentioning.. why, CPP, a hypocritical members of todays cpp why this gross tribal sidelining of notables like Afro Gbede.....? some one may claim they fell out of love, yes indeed they fell out..but that should and wont in anyway vitiate the indispensable and unassailable role Komla Agbeli Gbedemah played in making him, nkrumah what he is now. and indeed if nkrumah had listened to the counsel of his right hand man and first finance minister chances are the cpp govt wouldnt have suffered that traumatic and tragic end in 1966 and all that they have been afflicted with ever since and lately...now the self seeking motives and greed by cpp stalwalts is just too palpably evidenced in the way Papa kwesi ndoum undermined george aguddey in 2004 and vise versa when they respectively hard the chance to lead the party...

The better Ghana is here and is seen in the development projects the NDC led by President John Dramani Mahama has done and continue to do. It is a fact that it is individual Ghanaians who do farming, buy and sell farm products to they are to see to it that people do not go hungry and also the cost of food is not to high. When it comes to manufacturing the private sector control the majority of the factories, banking system, services and transport. Thus when when those who control the means of production and distribution complain that the economy is hard when they run it, then it shows that they are not competent. The same people say that the state must collect taxes to run the civil service, thus since they make the money they are supposed to build roads, habours hospitals, sport complexes, schools, just to mention few. The government borrow money to undertake those project, however those who said that they are in business to make things better for Ghanaians claim that things are hard when they run what they claim to be hard. There is a lot of inefficiency in the private sector. For instance how can water sachet producers ignore competition by seating down as a group to fix the price of a water sachet. It means that all of them are inefficient.
