Kutu Achaempong managed to achieve what you call unrealistic in 1976.All we need is effective planning with both government and the private sector making their contribution. We can even export industrial goods if we have the right leader. If you see the calibre of women I fck, you will understand exactly what I mean. I aim big because I know everything is possible once you go about it the right way

This selfish greedy corrupt minister is only a symptom of this criminal mafia full of anti Akan prejudice and hate. We pointed out last year that all their projects were burdened or tainted by immoral corrupt selfish greedy appetites of the ndc and the kleptomaniac brothers of pepeni omanhene. If these projects ever make it to parliament or the president they are normally half baked very flawed or contaminated as the monies that should have been invested in the project development were spent buying favor or bribing ndc foot-soldiers , bureaucrats , technocrats etc into compliance. Now pepeni realizes he has less than 2 months to actual start something spectacular that if it doesn't win him the elections at least secure him a sizable strong opposition. If there in no success story then NDC will be rejected en mass by the people and fall to 10% of support which will mean that party will never again be entrusted with the helm of government. Most ministers will end up in jail or exiled if there is a peaceful transition , if they cause war almost all of them and their families will die horrible deaths in the imminent cutlass revolution .

You first cut down imports, improve local production to meet consumption and then expand for export. You cannot start exporting when you have high imports of the same commodity.

Who runs before they can walk.Of course first things first. It took Achaempong 4 years to achieve that aim but your target must be defined before working towards it.

Rice has become a staple food for Ghanaians though we are not Chinese.cutting rice imports without first talking about how to outwith imports by high local production is a joke. Some of these promises lands Governments in trouble.Governments had tried to raise local production of rice so that we would not heavily be dependence on imports has failed, so your government should have rather be thinking what is causing the failure and how to strategize to locally increase rice production cheaper than the imported , also tasting good is another matter. But just to cut imports to save so much money when another big problem would have been created is a no good politics.
