This political lackey had the nerve to go and takedown Mrs Okoh (Maame Ghana) from the national hockey stadium, a task that she herself had brought about and give it to Atta Mess. Everything about the article in the Republic newspaper, which must obviously be one these third-rate rogue NDC flyers, is completely false. Fortunately the man in question, Oko Vanderpuiye, was the 'Mayor' of Accra and therefore his poor performance was and is evident to all who cared to see.
I really have no problem with Vanderpuiye running for the parliamentary seat. If he wins, he will joyously be welcomed into the house which is filled to the brim with 275 non-performing souls of his likeness. At best, in the event that this should happen, it will only make parliament more unproductive and disliked in the eyes of the people.
Surely, if even Fritz Bafour can win that seat, there is no gainsaying that it will be cold chop for the do-little Mayor.
Oko Vanderpuiyes bid to enter parliament however reeks to the high heavens of the disorder and chaos that prevails in the political establishment of Ghana. In the same way that it would seem to be incongruous and inappropriate for President John Mahama to be appointed a Minister in some future NDC govt, likewise, Oko Vanderpuiyes climb-down into the politically safe confines of parliamentary membership, grates my nerves badly. But alas! Everything and anything can now happen in this much defiled country of ours.
I hope the cheap PR job that the Republic is carrying out for Oko Vanderpuiye's campaign, will be paid by himself and not state resources.
