We are in the midst of the 50th anniversary of the death of Danquah, and people of all intellectual standing in the NPP are falling over each other to get to the microphone to praise the late terrorist. If J.B. Danquah, the UP/UGCC terrorist whose activities brought death to some and wounded others for life in Ghana is deserving of praise from a former president of Ghana, Kufour and NPP leadership then do not cry over preferences by others in society.
There is nothing more damning in Ghana than hypocrisy and nothing more insidious than tribal zealotry and the selfishness that goes along. We as Ghanaians said we hated what the CPP under Nkrumah gave us and yet some 45+years after Nkrumah left the scene we have had the UP/UGCC/NPP Ghana they promised and the property owning society at work and we continue to complain. But making noise about discrimination against a particular region or tribe without giving a single verifiable point to support the claim is discrimination is nothing but poor policitcking on the part of Otumfuo and Kwabena Adjei. Kwabena Adjei points to the sideling of Dr. Oteng Adjei in the current administration to prove his point. If one is to believe the claims and conclusions of Kwabena Adjei, then Bagbin too must be an Ashanti, for he too has been sidelined. The Otumfuo and Kwabena Adjei would have been believable had they shown the number of persons working in the Mahama administration, with a breakdown on the regions that each person hails from. Having done so and finding no no Ashantis within the group, then these two men would be justified in the claims of discrimination. When Kufuor and his NPP ruled Ghana for eight years, what were the numbers of various tribes within his administration? Did these two men ever care then to speak on behalf of other tribes? Or does belonging to a particular tribe mean that the one should not care about what happens to other tribes? It is election time, and some will stoop so low as to employ the tribal card to win sympaty and votes, and that is shameful.
