Congratulations, but your success will depend on your ability to ensure that round pegs are put in round wholes and not squared pegs in round wholes in the various offices. Stop for once and ask why the GRA is not meeting its target. Most of the offices are on auto pilots, improper management. Assignments and transfers are done based on who knows who in the transfer committee. Carry out a quick independent check on the stock of human resources in the various offices and you will know why revenue performance is falling short of target set. It is not only a problem of insufficient staff strength, but improper allocation of staff to various offices where there is high risk of revenue loss. People are settling personal scores causing people to be transferred, others are building empires and are bent on safeguarding them after retirement. Just summon the heads or the various Assistant Commissioners to provide you with the profile of staff in their various offices and you will make the conclusions yourself. Most of these are happening at the blind side of the Commissioner General and his three commissioners. Open your eyes and ears, the potential for mass revenue mobilization is there and this potential can be realized very well. Ensure the right thing is done and your mandate will be cherished and regarded in a noble manner. This means no disrespect. Shalom!!!!
